This article is a travel topic. Legislators over the years have set aside some of Ohio's more scenic areas for public use. The parks are scattered all over the State to give access to all. To the North, the Parks around Lake Erie have some of the best beaches and camping areas. Many have boat launches. Inland, most are in forest areas and offer outstanding amenities to campers, picnickers, boaters and horsemen.

Most Ohio State Park campgrounds are open year-round though many offer limited facilities in the winter. Many campgrounds offer a mix of electric and non-electric sites electric service is either amp, amp or amp. Some parks offer full hookup campsites amp electric as well as water and sewer hookups with pull-through pads that can accommodate RVs. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Many campgrounds have restrooms, hot showers, laundry, dump stations, firewood for sale to campers, and most have camp stores open seasonally stocked with food, convenience items and souvenirs.
